#MyBlackVOTECounts is a collaborative initiative amongst grassroots activists, researchers, and nonprofit organizations to promote civic engagement in the African-American community. Contracted through Lanae Norwood Consulting, I helped develop concepts for digital ads to motivate and educate California voters on voting by mail during the 2020 primary election, while also illustrating the diversity of black voters. I also re-designed the #MyBlackCounts logo (created to promote census participation in black communities) into the #MyBlackVOTECounts logo to illustrate the connection between voting and ensuring that your community is accurately counted and represented. This statewide social media campaign and voting initiative reached over 500,000 unique social media users in the initial week of its rollout.
