Commercial Property Revitalization Project | Project Coordination and Management

·

·

One of the most rewarding aspects of entrepreneurship has been the opportunity to solve problems and bring together people, resources, and services to help clients achieve their goals. A large-scale commercial warehouse cleanup and revitalization project provided an opportunity to apply those skills while coordinating multiple moving pieces from project acquisition through completion.

After acquiring the client, I served as the primary point of contact and managed the project from beginning to end. Responsibilities included developing contracts and invoices, coordinating schedules, communicating expectations, and overseeing relationships with subcontractors and project personnel.

The scope of work involved multiple phases and required collaboration among family members and subcontractors performing debris removal, carpet removal, damaged ceiling tile and framing removal, insulation removal, hauling, and disposal services. Managing these activities required careful planning, communication, and adaptability to ensure work progressed efficiently and met client expectations.

In addition to project coordination, I maintained ongoing communication with the client throughout the process, providing updates and ensuring expectations remained aligned. The experience highlighted the importance of organization, relationship management, and problem-solving when working on projects involving multiple stakeholders and service providers.

Although the project itself centered on physical property improvements, the skills required to successfully manage the engagement closely mirrored those used in communications and client service roles: active listening, expectation management, relationship building, and coordinating diverse teams toward a common goal.

The experience reinforced my appreciation for entrepreneurship and demonstrated how leadership and communication are essential components of successful project execution.
