In 2023, I supported the City of Denver Office of Children’s Affairs through Lewis & Florence Communications as part of a federally funded initiative supported by ARPA resources. My role focused on strengthening the organization’s digital communications processes and developing systems to support long-term sustainability beyond the project’s life.

I created a social media strategy and content calendar centered around planned initiatives, awareness campaigns, and evergreen content designed to keep the community informed and engaged. In addition to content planning, I developed quarterly Mailchimp templates complete with graphics and reusable copy to support recurring programs and initiatives.

I also implemented Hootsuite workflows and managed social media activity during the first several months of the project before coordinating a smooth transition to internal staff. My goal was not only to provide content support but also to establish systems and processes that employees could maintain independently.

Another important component of the project involved updating digital assets and webpages to improve accessibility and ADA compliance. This included reviewing website content, updating copy, and improving graphics and photo captions to ensure the information remained accessible to a wider audience.

This experience reinforced my belief that effective communication is about more than content creation. Sustainable systems, accessible information, and thoughtful planning are equally important to helping organizations serve their communities.
